Get Involved
- FORM A TEAM Ask a teacher, or other adult, to become a coach. Bring together enough students for a two to four person team.
- REGISTER The coach must register your team and serve as the point of contact for your team.
- PRACTICE Review previous practice questions scenario topics. Scenario overviews are located in the coach online account.
- ESSAY Submit your team essay online before the competition window opens.
- COMPETE The design/build and exam portion of the competition will be administered in-person at the team's own school. Details and instructions will be provided.
- CELEBRATE Your team will receive recognition and will be ranked within its division. State-level rankings are provided for each of the three components and Best-in-State (determined by combining the three components).

- Gives you an inside look at problem solving from an engineer’s viewpoint
- Increases your self-confidence in solving complex problems while working on a team
- Allows you to consider engineering majors and careers
Who Can Participate?
Students in middle school and high school are eligible to compete in TEAMS. Students may attend middle and high schools (public, private, home schools); youth groups; or clubs and organizations (Boy/Girl Scouts, 4-H, Junior Achievement, etc.).
Middle school TEAMS participants are in 6th - 8th grade (5th or 9th grade may participate at the middle school level if the grade is housed in a middle school). High school TEAMS participants are in 9th - 12th grade.
