"TEAMS taught me invaluable lessons about collaboration; it gave me the opportunity to work with a group of brilliant, innovative minds. TEAMS allowed me to develop my presentation, writing, and technical skills in the past five years."
—Patrick Liu, TEAMS competitor, CA

Do you enjoy competing against students from other schools and groups from across the country? Do you want to deepen your knowledge of STEM disciplines outside the classroom? Do you want to meet new people and get a glimpse into the engineering
profession? In the TEAMS competition, you and your teammates will work together on some of the world's most pressing social and community challenges.
Why Participate in TEAMS:

- Gives you an inside look at problem solving from an engineer’s viewpoint
- Increases your self-confidence in solving complex problems while working on a team
- Allows you to consider engineering majors and careers
Who Can Participate:
Students in middle school and high school
are eligible to compete in TEAMS. Students may be from middle and high schools (public, private, home schools); youth groups; or clubs and organizations (Boy/Girl Scouts, 4-H, Junior Achievement, etc.). Middle school team members must be in 7th or
8th grade (9th grade may participate at the middle school level if the grade is housed in a middle school). High school team members must be in 9th to 12th grade but can be from one class, several classes, a school club, or group.
Schools, homeschools, and groups participate and are ranked in different divisions and levels to allow for more equal competition. Divisions are assigned and levels are selected during the online registration process. Learn about participation levels and divisions.
