At the 2019 National TSA Conference, Mr. Guy Cecil will deliver the keynote speech: "Failing and Serving our Way to the Top." Mr. Cecil was a TSA member for six years. He served as Florida TSA president, national TSA reporter, national TSA president, and as a member of the Competition Regulations Committee.
Since graduating from the University of Florida, Mr. Cecil has spent time as a high school teacher, minister, community and political leader, field organizer, non-profit board chair, and university adjunct lecturer.
Currently, Mr. Cecil is chair of Priorities USA, an advocacy organization focused on protecting and expanding voting rights, mobilizing underrepresented communities in American elections, and building a long-term digital infrastructure. He is the senior strategist for Priorities USA Action, which supports Democratic candidates and will be active in 2020 elections. He is also the founder and president of Miles Strategies.
Mr. Cecil has appeared as an analyst and guest on ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, NBC, NPR, and other news outlets. He is the former executive director of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee and former chief of staff to U.S. Senator Michael Bennet of Colorado.
In the past four years, Mr. Cecil successfully led litigation efforts in nine states to fight voter suppression legislation. He has more than 15 years of experience managing high-profile political, non-profit, and issue advocacy campaigns in 46 states. He also served as president of Thomas Circle Strategies, principal at Dewey Square Group, and national field director for the Children’s Defense Fund.
