Overview

ITF CertificationThe CompTIA IT Fundamentals+ Certification exam is offered to a number of TSA chapter advisors and high school student members who will attend the 2020 National TSA Conference in Nashville, TN.

ITF+ Certification, one of many IT certifications offered by CompTIA, is an introduction to basic IT knowledge and skills that form the basis for a foundational understanding of careers within the Information Technology field. TSA partner CompTIA is offering the ITF+ certification exam at no cost (a $250 value) to a number of advisors. The CompTIA ITF+ certification may meet professional development requirements for local school districts.

Free Study Guide

In January 2020, participants may access the ITF+ Certification Exam Study Guide by setting up an account using their personal email address and supplied code via the courseware content application used by CompTIA. Participants are required to review CompTIA's Candidate Agreement along with the Candidate Testing Policies. The study guide is only available to advisors and student members participating in this event at the upcoming National TSA Conference.

Steps to acquire the study guide for student members in advance of registration:

  1. Make sure your chapter is affiliated with TSA.
  2. Complete and submit these two forms for each student intending to take the exam: 

   3. Complete the Google Form. Upload documents. Include a valid email address to receive study guide codes.
   4. Please allow three (3) business days to receive the study guide code via email.
   5. Remind your advisor to register you to take the exam at the 2020 National TSA Conference once registration opens in March.

 Steps to acquire the study guide for chapter advisors in advance of registration:

  1. Make sure your chapter is affiliated with TSA.
  2. Complete the Google Form and don’t forget to include a valid email address to receive the codes for the study guide.
  3. Please allow three (3) business days to receive the study guide code via email.  
  4. A sign-up sheet will be made available for advisors approximately one month prior to the 2020 National TSA Conference with dates/times to take the exam.

Steps for ALL test takers in preparation for the Onsite ITF+ Certification Exam at the 2020 National TSA Conference:

At least seventy-two (72) hours prior to the exam, participants must complete the following steps to create a profile on the CompTIA Pearson VUE website:

  1. Go to: https://home.pearsonvue.com/comptia/ap/test-takers.aspx.
  2. Proceed with the account creation process and when prompted, select “No, I do not know my CompTIA ID.”
  3. Participants will need to have their username and password to access the exam onsite.
