Plan on attending an inspiring leadership academy on June 29th followed by a Baltimore Orioles baseball game on June 30th for a total cost of $20 per person. This experience is the first of its kind for TSA!

Using the best-selling book, The Student Leadership Challenge, authored by leadership experts James M. Kouzes and Barry Z. Posner, TSA student members and chapter advisors will learn how anyone can be a leader, regardless of age or experience.  Featuring actual stories about students, The Student Leadership Challenge identifies five practices of exemplary leadership (Model the Way, Inspire a Shared Vision, Challenge the Process, Enable Others to Act, and Encourage the Heart) that are common in leaders who make amazing things happen.

Backed by over 25 years of research, authors Kouzes and Posner, began their project by asking ordinary people to describe extraordinary leadership experiences and in doing so they found patterns of success.   The entire premise of The Student Leadership Challenge is to help students find their own personal best stories and learn how to replicate them over and over.
TSA is proud to offer its members for the first time this leadership development model at the 2010 National TSA Leadership Academy in Baltimore on June 29th. The Student Leadership Challenge is the student version of The Leadership Challenge, the leadership model thousands of corporation’s worldwide implement such as, Apple, Boeing, Caterpillar, Dell Computers, FedEx, IBM, MetLife, MCI, Northrop Grumman, and The Walt Disney Company.
At the June 29th leadership academy trained facilitators will teach three-hour workshops in five dedicated tracks specifically designed for the Technology Student Association:

Here is what one advisor has to say about The Student Leadership Challenge
“My students have enjoyed using The Student Leadership Challenge in class and in our chapter. The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership have been an effective way to begin and sustain the conversation about leadership. The Student Leadership Challenge is being used by colleges all over the country and that is also appealing to me, as it really prepares my students for what comes next.”
